Kevin McGovern of Fallon Health recognized as a community champion

Kevin McGovernWorcester, Mass., February 10, 2022— Fallon Health is pleased to announce Vice President and Treasurer, Kevin McGovern, has been recognized with the organization’s 5th annual Community Impact Award. The award, which honors an individual who demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to Fallon and its mission, was presented during the year-end all-employee meeting in December.

McGovern, a Worcester resident, was chosen among hundreds of volunteers at Fallon who give back on a regular basis. His community service includes serving as a current board member with Notre Dame Health Care — where he is a member of the finance and investment committees— and past board member and treasurer for the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester (2021 Hall of Fame inductee), You Inc. and Central Mass Striders. McGovern has also helped with fundraising efforts for the United Way of Central Massachusetts’ annual campaigns, coached local youth sports teams, taught CCD at Blessed Sacrament Church, participated in neighborhood cleanups and is a regular platelet donor for the Red Cross.

“Kevin is not only one of Fallon’s longest serving employees with 38 years, but also one of our most active,” said Richard Burke, President and CEO of Fallon Health. “From lending his talents serving in a finance position on many area boards, to taking an active role in Fallon-sponsored events such as the annual Canal Diggers Road Race and St. Patrick’s Day parade, you can always count on Kevin to share his passion and commitment for the City of Worcester and its people.”

Fallon has been awarding the Community Impact Award since 2017. Past recipients include Andrew Venuti of Sutton (2017), Pamela Parent of Leicester (2018), Mike McConville of West Boylston (2019) and Karin Daigle of Worcester (2020).

“I am humbled to be recognized by Fallon in this way, especially knowing that there are so many deserving community-focused people who work alongside me,” said McGovern. “The simple fact that Fallon has a Community Impact Award says a lot about the importance of community involvement to the company. It is comforting to work for an organization that truly cares about our local community and helping the people living here.”
